2009 Event Information

What: The Racing 2 Save Lives Event is a three day motorcycle track day with the purpose of raising awareness of and funds for children's charities.

Where: Miller Motorsports Park is proudly hosting the 2009 Racing 2 Save Lives Event. MMP is an AMA sanctioned track situated adjacent to Tooele County's Deseret Peak Recreation Complex. It is within 35 minutes of downtown Salt Lake, and 25 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport. Go to www.millermotorsportspark.com for track info.

When: The Miller event is from July 3rd - 5th, 2009.

Who: Anyone with a sport bike, sport touring bike, or motard who would like to participate. We require that you demonstrate safe and competent riding skills. You don't have to be fast or have prior track experience, just be safe - we will even have beginner track instruction available at no extra cost if you've never experienced the thrill of a racetrack! Full safety gear must be worn on the track at all times, and your motorcycle will have to go through a tech inspection. See our Want to Ride page for more details.

event infoHow it Works: Each day is divided into three, three hour sessions. Minimum donations for track time will apply, which are detailed in the Pre-Registration form. Many participants also choose to obtain pledges from family, friends, coworkers, local businesses, etc. that are often in excess of the minimum donation so there are no personal out-of-pocket expenses.

We suggest you put together a team of at least two riders (we won't turn you away if you show up by yourself), then sign up online, get pledges, prep your bike and your gear, and show up ready to have a great time!

Services at the track:

  • We will have tire, fuel, and mechanical services at the track, in addition to various vendors with parts and accessories. There will also be full food concessions for all three days.

History: Racing 2 Save Lives came from the genius of a very small group of racers who understood the generosity of the racing community. A few short weeks later, in June of 2004, the first event was held: a week-long motorcycle endurance race which covered 32,517 miles and generated over $70,000 in donations from the community. With over 200 riders and dozens of volunteers, it was considered a huge success - if not a movement in the motorcycle community! The 2005 event completely blew us away. The change in venue (to PPIR) brought a huge amount of riders and we raised over $130,000!

In our 2006 event alone, over 350 riders participated in the event, representing 19 states, Canada, and England. Speed TV covered the event with an eight-minute feature on 2Wheel Tuesday. 2007 was Racing 2 Save Lives' most successful year yet! Through the incredible work of our volunteers, generosity of our sponsors, and presence of several hundred participants, we were able to give $90,000 to children's charities across Colorado, Utah, Virginia, and North Carolina! The impact R2SL has on the world around us through the dedication of so many people is truly immense. We cannot thank everyone enough for helping to make this happen, and look forward to an even greater year in 2008.

Goals: In 2008, with your help, our goal is to raise $250,000 for our charities. We hope to achieve this through corporate sponsorships, individual contributions, and pledges generated by our participants - people just like you! Every dollar helps, and even if you cannot make it to MMP to ride we would love to receive your donation.
