TONY BAKER STEPS DOWN AS PRESIDENT AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR RACING 2 SAVE LIVES
Denver, CO - October 2, 2005 - Tony Baker, who has served as Racing 2 Save Lives President and Executive Director for the event's first two years, resigns his position effective August 9, 2005. Sharon and Stan Foxworthy will succeed Baker bringing enthusiasm, vision and industry connections to the event.
Baker's vision for Racing to Save Lives (R2SL) was "simply to create an opportunity for motorcyclists to participate in something that truly made a difference." Raising over $55,000 in the event's first year, there is no doubt this was accomplished.
While many may think Baker's resignation is bittersweet, he says it is far from that. "The fact that we have evolved into a public charity, held two successful events, enjoyed the participation of over 400 motorcyclists and volunteers, and distributed over $55,000 to charities in just over one year is just icing on the cake."
Sharon Foxworthy, President, and Stan Foxworthy, Executive Director, have been involved with R2SL since the very beginning. Baker said, "over the last 18 months they really have emerged as the leaders of our organization." Every week they are gaining more support from local and national communities.
